A Nature Enthusiast and Strong Role Model

Ann Avila was more than a grandmother; she was a pillar of strength, a nature enthusiast, and possessed an activist's spirit. Her deep connection to nature was evident in her frequent walks through the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens and the beautiful garden she nurtured at home. Living next to the Botanical Gardens, she found joy and tranquility in the vibrant flora and serene paths, a passion she shared with me on many occasions.

Her life on Tunnel Road was not without challenges. The threat of wildfires was a constant presence, yet her resilience in the face of adversity was a testament to her strength. Ann passed away in September 2020 from dementia, but her spirit and the lessons she imparted to me endure. She taught me the importance of standing up for my beliefs, being true to myself amidst challenges, and facing life with unwavering strength.

The Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade: Planting Seeds of Hope

In honoring Ann's memory, TAB Professional Services has chosen to support the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade’s Native Plant Seedlings initiative as our annual donation. This project is close to our hearts as it aligns with Ann’s love for nature and her commitment to nurturing life in her beloved Santa Barbara community.

The initiative involves planting native plant seedlings in the Humanitarian Garden, complete with necessary care to ensure their growth. This initiative not only helps preserve endangered plant species but also grows healthy food for local charities, ensuring that Ann’s legacy of care and nurturing continues to flourish in the community she cherished.

My grandma's influence on my life and business cannot be overstated. Her teachings about strength, resilience, and being true to oneself have been instrumental in my journey as a business owner. TAB Professional Services, LLC would not exist without the foundations she helped build.
