As we approach Mother's Day, a time to honor the incredible women who shape our lives, we are delighted to announce the recipient of the 2024 Maria Angela Bimbela Family Scholarship. This scholarship, named in honor of our beloved mother Maria Bimbela, celebrates resilience, determination, and the pursuit of education despite life's challenges.

This year, we are thrilled to award the $250 scholarship to Paula Jazmin Huizar, a remarkable individual who embodies the spirit of perseverance and achievement. Paula is a single parent currently attending Los Angeles Harbor College, and is double majoring in Psychology and Administration of Criminal Justice. She will be receiving two associates for transfer in those degrees. She served in the United States Marine Corps for five years, a testament to her dedication to service and country. We thank her for her service!

Paula's journey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit. Despite facing numerous obstacles as a single mother, including serving in the military, she has remained steadfast in her pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. Her commitment to her education is not only inspiring but serves as a shining example of what can be accomplished through determination and hard work.

In her heartfelt response to the news, Paula expressed her gratitude: "Thank you so much for the great news! I accept the scholarship and I truly am thankful and appreciative."
