Similarly, managing finances, specifically taxes, has proven to be another steep learning curve. Not saving enough to cover taxes at year-end was a jarring experience that highlighted a gap in my financial planning.

This resonated deeply with me, highlighting the broad network of people—including the ongoing support from my patient husband—who are cheering me on. I have met so many amazing supporters on this journey, including those who think of me when someone needs a grant writer. This led me to a community development financial institution that not only funded my loan but also offered me a role as a program administrator for an entrepreneur accelerator program based on the strength of my business plan and my expertise. This dual role of navigating my own business while aiding others has been incredibly eye-opening as I new learn skills and tasks daily.
